Our Story

Why we exist

Heath Meadows Publishing started with two very personal experiences — and a belief that the right resource at the right moment can genuinely change things.

How Calm Study began

Our ADHD planner, Calm Study, began with my daughter. She went to university full of promise, and ADHD made everything harder than it should have been.

The overwhelm, the difficulty starting tasks, the feeling of falling behind no matter how hard she tried — it got so difficult she had to take a year out. Watching her not have the right tools for how her brain actually works is what led me to build Calm Study.

Not another generic planner. Not another system that adds more pressure. Something designed from the ground up for students who struggle — gentle, structured, and completely free of judgement.

“Every page was created with one question in mind: what would actually help a student with ADHD on a real, difficult day?”

Calm Study is the planner I wish had existed for her. It’s 44 pages of practical, compassionate support — daily planners, brain dump pages, focus tools, habit trackers, and reflection prompts — all built around how ADHD students actually work, not how the education system assumes they should.

How The Shape of What Remains began

Our book came from a different but equally real place — the experience of navigating separation and trying to show up as a father when your own life is mid-rebuild.

Separation is one of the most disorienting experiences a person can go through. The grief of a changed family, the practical chaos, the weight of trying to be present for your children while you yourself are struggling — it’s a lot. And for fathers, it can feel particularly isolating.

The Shape of What Remains is the book I needed during that time. Grounded, practical, and written without blame — it’s a guide for fathers who want to process what’s happened, rebuild their sense of self, and show up well for the people who need them most.

“This is not about blame. It’s about growth.”

One shared belief

Two products. Two very different audiences. One shared belief: that compassionate, practical support — built for real people in real situations — can help anyone take the next step forward.

That’s what Heath Meadows Publishing exists to provide. Resources that meet people where they are. Books and planners that don’t add pressure — they reduce it. Content created from lived experience, not theory.

We’re a small, independent publisher. Every product we release is something we genuinely believe in — because it came from something we genuinely went through.

“Small steps still move you forward.”
